CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
The increase in environmental awareness among consumers has led to higher market requirements and expectations, demanding that natural resources and ecosystem services be used in a clean, safe, efficient, and sustainable manner, while ensuring that products meet the highest possible quality standards.
Likewise, the importance of implementing environmental prevention, reduction, and remediation measures to address the negative effects of climate change has intensified. These measures are intended to be an integral part of productive business projects, reducing and mitigating adverse impacts on society and the environment, and building the knowledge base necessary to ensure the sustainability of natural resources and ecosystem services in the short, medium, and long term.
LABOR POLICY
Within Guatemala’s sugarcane sector, we recognize that our employees are the heart, soul, and driving force of our industry.
Their dedication and effort not only drive sugar production but also make a significant contribution to the economic and social well-being of our communities. Therefore, it is of vital importance that we maintain a work environment that is safe, fair, and respectful.
HUMAN RIGHTS RESPECT POLICY
The corporate governance of the sugar industry places the human person at its core, ensuring dignified and decent working conditions, promoting the harmonious coexistence of sugarcane cultivation with the environment, and acting as an economic agent that contributes significantly to the country’s development.
The Human Rights Policy follows the principles set forth in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as recognized by the International Organisation of Employers.
